  • Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we think of MLK's inspiring, non-violent leadership for civil rights, economic opportunity and justice, and community-building. His galvanizing work -- through words and actions, including coordination with other leaders -- has engaged people throughout the U.S. and around the world over the decades. As we continue to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, related economic crisis, racial and other inequalities, and other challenges, let's remember the Rev. Dr. King's words — and keep moving forward!

  • Lambent Data Presenting at Angel Venture Fair

The Lambent Data team is excited to be presenting October 30 in the 24th annual Angel Venture Fair, which is virtual this year.  Lambent Data is one of 34 companies noted as being among "America's Most Promising Companies," selected from over 150 applicants, by 85 judges narrowing them down to companies in a wide range of industries and business stages.  Each company pitches twice during two weeks. Kirsten Hund Blair, Lambent's Co-founder and CEO, enthusiastically presented on October 16, 2020 and will present again at 1 pm Eastern on Friday, October 30. The format is ~10 minutes of presenting and ~5 minutes of live Q and A (including audience questions via Zoom Chat), skillfully moderated by the Angel Venture Fair's Executive Director, Marc Kramer, who is also the Executive Director of the Private Investors Forum. He and his colleagues Martin Sandgren, Ariel Kramer, Robyn Gilbert, and others have been working tirelessly to organize and market the Angel Venture Fair in a way that supports the entrepreneurs as well as the potential investors and others attending. This dedication has also been evident in the other gatherings organized and/or co-sponsored by the Angel Venture Fair during the course of the year, which now include various Zoom talks, panels, etc. We at Lambent Data are indeed grateful! After her October 16 pitch, Kirsten was delighted to talk as follow-up with several people who had seen the presentation and wanted to learn more about Lambent Data's work and traction to launch the OurREACH collaborative software platform and app, with data analytics, to equip social service and healthcare providers and empower the families they serve. She also talked in detail with others who had not been able to attend, but had seen her listed. To attend her October 30 presentation (and others during October 27-30), please Click Here for A Free Ticket: Angel Venture Fair. This link also includes a schedule of presenters. Please note that since this is a live event in which companies are presenting in sequence, the scheduled times (e.g. 1 pm Eastern for Lambent Data) are target times. When you register (which is free), an electronic book with detailed information on each company will be sent to you; the book also contains other valuable info. If the Registration link notes that tickets are sold out, please contact Kirsten at kirsten@lambentdata.com so that she can contact the organizers to inquire about extra tickets. In his outreach, Marc has encouraged, "If you are an Angel Investor, Family Office, Corporate VC, traditional Venture Capitalist, or referral source, please take the time to support these companies by either making an investment or an introduction to another investor." Many thanks to those of you who attended October 16 -- and to others for considering attending the October 30 event!

  • Video Highlights OurREACH™ Tool To Equip Providers and Empower Families

Please scroll down to click on our video! As we at Lambent Data have been working with leaders at non-profit organizations to discuss potential pilots, we're highlighting the features of OurREACH™, including how it's been refined through these conversations over the past months. This collaborative software platform and app, with data analytics, focuses on equipping social service and healthcare providers -- and empowering the families they serve. This tool extends existing case management tools and focuses on a pathway to outcomes, through goal-setting, resources, and other features that undergird the relationship between mentor/case manager and the family member. OurREACH™ addresses health, housing, jobs, education & child development, to improve family outcomes & reduce organizational and healthcare costs. It also generates data and data analytics to help providers improve their programs. Lambent Data recently debuted this video to illustrate the value of the tool for social service and healthcare providers and for families. These families include the 2 in 5 people in the U.S. who live at or below the threshold of "just making ends meet" (the "ALICE" Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed threshold identified initially by United Way). The COVID-19 pandemic and related economic crisis have highlighted the need for this tool, which will continue to be valuable ahead even beyond these crises. It will be free to families, as the business model is Software as a Service to which the social service and healthcare providers will subscribe. Employers can also provide the tool for their employees. We're excited to have strong traction to launch our tool later in 2020 with pilot organizations and their families. Please contact Co-founder and CEO Kirsten Hund Blair at kirsten@lambentdata.com for more information about participating in pilots and/or investing in Lambent Data. Many thanks.

  • Lambent Data Offers Zoom Workshops to Social Service Organizations and Employers

Lambent Data is offering "Reaching My Goals" Interactive Zoom Workshops to non-profit organizations for their clients. Employers of low-income employees may also like to offer this workshop for their employees. Attached is a flyer with more details. The Workshop is helpful for the range of social service agencies for which our OurREACH™ collaborative software platform and app, with data analytics, will be valuable. These include social services agencies with a case management and/or mentoring aspect as they work with individuals and families. The Workshop can also be adapted for employers to offer to their employees. We look forward to continuing to work with organizations to offer these Workshops for their constituencies; we can adapt the scenarios, etc. to the situations of the people they serve. During the Workshop, clients (or employees) learn from inspiring speakers about setting goals and milestones. Organizations gain valuable feedback from their clients/employees on their goals and milestones through the interactive Chat, Polls, and Word Cloud features. The participants and organizations also benefit from the Interactive Q & A Session. There is no cost for these Workshops. The Workshops are only one of several ways in which Lambent Data is coming alongside non-profits and employers. Others include coordinating for pilots later in 2020 of OurREACH™, which equips providers and empowers families in areas including housing, health, jobs, education and nurturing their children. Lambent is also working with the non-profit organizations to raise funds to facilitate the launch of the pilots. Please contact Co-founder and CEO Kirsten Hund Blair at kirsten@lambentdata.com for more information on the Workshops, pilots, joint funding proposals with organizations, and/or investing in Lambent. Thanks very much.

  • Lambent Data's Commitment to Equity, Justice, and Community

We at Lambent Data mourn the killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and so many others who have died unjustly over the course of our nation’s history. We grieve the lives lost in the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected black and brown people at higher rates than others, magnifying and highlighting systemic disparities in our country. Much is needed to dismantle systemic racism, work against racial bias, and build opportunities so that all people can flourish. We have also seen that racial bias can be "hard-coded" into technology platforms and data products in subtle, harmful ways. Our team is committed to making sure that our ideals are reflected in our code and in all of our work. We stand with and are dedicated to working hand-in-hand with, listening to, and learning from our community partners and the families with whom they work. We will continue to work tirelessly to provide collaborative tools that boost coordination among families, social service agencies and healthcare providers. We will continue to emphasize ways these tools can strongly equip families as they manage their health, address housing and jobs, support their children in various ways, and more. We affirm our renewed commitment to work collaboratively for equity, diversity, justice, and community-building, so that families, children, and communities across our country thrive.

  • Lambent Data Highlighted in Princeton Entrepreneurship Club Newsletter

We at Lambent Data are delighted to be one of four companies featured in the Princeton University Entrepreneurship Club's quarterly newsletter. This issue focuses on companies' responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, including an overview and detailed articles on each. Caren Ju, a rising junior at Princeton, interviewed Lambent Co-founder and CEO Kirsten Hund Blair. This student-run club, the largest club at Princeton, emailed the newsletter on May 28, 2020 to students, alumni, and others interested in the club's activities. This was on the first day of the 2020 Reunions (held virtually this year!) of Princeton alumni. Please see the overview and the detail on Lambent, which seeks to improve child and family well-being through user-friendly software and data analytics, powerfully equipping social service providers, healthcare providers, and the families they serve as clients/patients. (Please note that any links pictured in the photos of the newsletter here are not "live links." Thanks.) An excerpt: "The crisis has highlighted the importance of Lambent’s tool, as it provides remote ways to engage patients and their families and empowers people to manage their health by addressing both medical factors and non-medical obstacles. The “social determinants of health” have been illuminated by the pandemic. For example, housing conditions, low income, etc. impact chronic illnesses, which have been risk factors for how severely COVID-19 impacts patients. These and other issues of access make it clear that improved opportunities for people to manage their health and connect with providers will be critical moving forward." The article also noted Lambent's "design prototype and active conversations with potential pilot venues" as well as being "encouraged by a new investor in mid-March, and are seeking further funding, which qualifies for the NJ Angel Investor Tax Credit." Further excerpts: "The crisis has underscored the Lambent team’s sense of commitment to their work... Their advice: be empathetic to how this is affecting people’s lives and families. Be aware of ways to be flexible and ways to be resilient, in the sense of not only modifying logistics, but also stretching to critical needs that have arisen." "Shout out to the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council and Keller Center for their terrific responses in offering webinars and networking groups. The Princeton Center for Career Development has also been a great help, and the Princeton community as a whole has done well in adapting in the face of unexpected circumstances."
