  • Lambent Data Selected for MassChallenge - IBM Program

Lambent Data has been selected to join the second cohort of the jointly created MassChallenge - IBM mentorship program for underrepresented founders. The program, which aims to provide AI mentoring support and resources to high-impact startups with historically underrepresented founders, was expanded this year to include start-ups innovating with cyber and data security, as well as artificial intelligence elements. The facilitators of the program will be drawn from experts within IBM’s artificial intelligence, data security, and other sectors, as well as members of the MassChallenge community (dedicated to working with early stage entrepreneurs). Through one-on-one mentoring and bi-weekly “Lunch and Learns,” entrepreneurs will engage with the experts and one another. This will progress the program’s aims which are to provide equitable access for underrepresented founders across all industries and to cultivate an inclusive innovation environment for all, in technical, strategic, and operational areas. The program kicked off on May 11 and extends through mid-July. Lambent had previously been chosen for the 2021 MassChallenge Early Stage Accelerator (July - October 2021); Lambent’s participation had helped the company strongly progress, and we are greatly looking forward to this 2022 MassChallenge - IBM program also. Lambent Data is an early stage social impact company which has developed the OurREACH™ bi-directional software platform and app, with data analytics. This HIPAA-compliant platform, which is very flexible in nature, lays a robust and collaborative framework for healthcare and social service providers to help families achieve better outcomes in health and Social Determinants of Health (housing, jobs, education, and more). It also includes many parenting resources. Because it’s so granular for patients and clients, it generates new data analytics never before available to providers, which they can use to improve their programs. The improved patient/client outcomes also lead to lower healthcare costs, which are crucial in preventive and value-based care.

  • Lambent Data Presents Poster at National Conference

Lambent Data presented a poster at the 2022 Health Datapalooza and National Health Policy Conference during April 4-5, 2022. Lambent Data was selected for this honor. Co-founder and CEO Kirsten Hund Blair was delighted to participate in the entire conference, including the poster session, talking enthusiastically with other participants. The conference aim was to “harness and strengthen the synergies that exist between the data and policy worlds. The exciting, hybrid program offered innovative solutions to directly confront the challenges, opportunities, and threats facing U.S. health care.” Throughout the conference, many speakers and other participants powerfully addressed the importance of equity and social determinants of health. These themes resonate strongly with Lambent's work and impact. Keynote speakers included leaders from healthcare systems, the federal administration, state governments, private companies, other nonprofit organizations, and others. Panel sessions and other networking enabled participants to engage in robust discussions. Lambent’s poster extended 7 feet by 3 feet – and Kirsten also provided handouts with the poster material to those with whom she talked during the poster session and at other times during the conference. The poster explained how the OurREACH™ collaborative software platform and app, with data analytics, equips healthcare and social service providers to engage families more fully. It empowers families to set and track goals and milestones, access resources and collaborate with providers on health and social determinants of health (e.g., housing, jobs, education), plus nurturing children and more. This collaboration between the patients and the providers’ front-line staff (e.g., social workers) can occur across over 100 languages. This customizable SaaS solution can connect with providers’ existing EHR and other case management tools. It boosts family outcomes, along with reducing costs and improving analytics for providers (key for healthcare value-based care). OurREACH™ generates new data and data analytics not previously available, about how individuals and families are trying to reach their goals and outcomes in many life arenas. This data is generated through patients/clients themselves. OurREACH™ will help patients/clients reach better outcomes in health and the Social Determinants of Health. These better outcomes also will help hospitals financially. This is because preventive care and wellness (including better managing behavioral health & chronic conditions) translate to lower costs in value-based care.

  • Intern Reflections Video Series Launched

Part of the core ethos of the founders and other executives of Lambent Data is the idea of engaging with the community in a variety of ways. Consequently, Lambent Data, since its founding, has developed a strong tradition of inviting Interns from universities in NJ, NY, and elsewhere to enjoy work experience within the company. These Interns bring their commitment to making a positive difference in the world, a diversity of thought, intellectual energy, and vibrant exchanges of ideas to the office roundtables, whether those roundtables are virtual or otherwise. The Center for Career Development at Princeton University is one of the Princeton University departments that has worked alongside Lambent Data to facilitate Internships. This Center has referred exceptional interns to our company through its “Princeternship” and other programs. The latest group of outstanding Interns, whose formal “Princeternships” with the company included four weeks during December 2021 and January 2022, are studying a diversity of disciplines, including Computer Science, Sociology, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Public and International Affairs. Several are also continuing to engage with Lambent. See more about the Winter '21-22 Interns here. In February 2022, Lambent Data launched a three-part Intern Reflections series featuring winter Interns Liz Garcia, Lauren Maynard and Michelle Liu. In the series kick-off, Liz Garcia, a first-year Princeton prospective Computer Science major, spoke of her work enhancing the OurREACH™ platform to equip healthcare and social service providers and empower families for improved outcomes -- and her excitement about a future career in the tech world. Lauren Maynard, a sophomore majoring in Sociology, talked about Lambent’s social impact and her work in user feedback/experience, provider outreach to family users, and product development. In the final installment of the series, Michelle Liu, a first-year prospective Computer Science major, spoke of her time implementing, testing, and refining technical features (such as push notifications) of the OurREACH™ collaborative software platform and app, with data analytics. They all also talked very positively about the teamwork and collegiality of their experiences. Please see the Intern Reflections series here. The Intern Reflection videos were also posted on our social media pages, which can be found at the following links: https://www.facebook.com/LambentDataInc/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/lambent-data/ https://twitter.com/LambentData/ https://www.instagram.com/lambentdata/ The Center for Career Development at Princeton University shared the first post of our Intern Reflection Series, featuring Liz Garcia, on its Facebook page, while also thanking Co-founder and CEO Kirsten Hund Blair for her ongoing initiatives to provide work experience at Lambent Data to Princeton University students. See the attached photo for a screenshot of this post. We continue to be thankful to the Center and the Interns! Lambent Data’s commitment to equipping healthcare and social service providers and empowering families is the cornerstone of our company’s mission. We're delighted and grateful for all the ways that Interns have helped to further this mission, while learning much in this process about entrepreneurship in a social impact company.

  • Lambent Data at Pitch Stop IV

The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce (PMRC) selected Lambent Data for a display table at Pitch Stop IV, which occurred on February 17, 2022. Lambent's Co-founder and CEO Kirsten Hund Blair participated in the lively in-person event, which took place at the beautiful Grounds for Sculpture and attracted over 130 people, including investors, entrepreneurs, and others interested in innovation. While the event was scheduled for three hours, she and others interacted for nearly five hours, including before and after the scheduled time. The photo below shows Kirsten at the display table, with outdoor sculptures visible through the window and several paintings hung indoors also visible as reflections in the glass. After the formal event ended, during the continuing networking, attendees were invited to walk around outdoors through the fascinating exhibit "Night Forms" with colored lights illuminating sculptures. (However, Kirsten did not do this, as she was talking with so many people indoors!) The exhibit is open during nights until April 3; ticket info and other details are here: https://www.groundsforsculpture.org/exhibitions/night-forms-dreamloop-by-klip-collective/ Twenty-four enterprises had applied to the event, with three companies chosen to present pitches and six others (including Lambent) chosen for display tables. Dome Audio was pitched by Chief Strategy Officer Tim Wright, who played in the 2014-15 season, including the Feb 2015 Super Bowl, for the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. Gabi and Mike Johnson of YourTownTube.com and FitFabandWellTube.com skillfully videotaped and photographed the event, including interviewing entrepreneurs and other participants! The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council of the PMRC plus other PMRC colleagues and the Grounds for Sculpture staff smoothly coordinated the advance planning and many details during the evening.
