Our Team

Ed Greene, Ph.D.

Advisor

Ed is a leader in the fields of child development, early learning and children’s media environments, with his over 40-year career engaging with children, adolescents, and families and spanning public, private, philanthropic, and higher education spheres.  He is a Research Fellow at Knology, where he focuses on media literacy, cultural competency, ideation, and transmedia property development, and serves as Principal investigator for the NSF/AISL-funded project Authoring Children’s STEM Stories for Climate Risk Preparedness. He formerly served as the VP for Children, Youth, & Digital Media Literacy at the Hispanic Information Telecommunications Network (HITN). He has served as director of global outreach for Sesame Workshop in Central America, the Andes, Jordan, Kosovo, and India. Ed was an instructional leadership coach for principals and PreK-2 teachers in Detroit Public Schools for Teachscape. He also has served as a senior adviser and consultant to Cito USA and its PiramideApproach to Early Learning.  


Ed has served on the faculty of Pacific Oaks College and has held faculty appointments as Assistant Professor at Lehman College (CUNY); Associate Professor, Montclair State University; and Visiting Professor, University of the District of Columbia. Ed has served on the boards of the High/Scope Educational Research Foundation, The American Camp Association and Young Audiences of NJ and Central PA; and on the Advisory Council of The Educational Equity Center at FHI360. He was an elected member of the Governing Board of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Ed  earned his B.Mus. Ed at DePauw; an M.A. in Child and Human Development at Pacific Oaks College; and a PhD from the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Indiana State University.
